It's been a while since I last made a product review. Well that's because I also haven't been purchasing any, especially after getting pregnant. Except for my sunblock cream, I stopped all skin care products I was using just to be on the safe side.
But this year's summer was unbearably hot. We pregnant women already always feel hot and the weather then was so unforgiving. I kind of like took 3-5 showers a day. Aside from my raging and changing hormones, the frequent washing dried out my skin and made my facial skin oilier after some minutes.
Also, the absence of oil control product broke me out. I thought I could live with them since I was pregnant anyway, people seeing my face would understand. But the more I broke out, the more I felt uneasy. I said I have to be "blooming" since I'm carrying someone special inside me... I thought of finally giving in to the pricey preggy skin care products online..
On July 30 though, as I was preparing for our summer vacation, I tried to check the facial wash samples I have for easy packing. This sample tube of Etude House' Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam interested me so much.
A 30mL sample tube I got when I bought someone a sunblock cream from Etude House.
The sunblock cream was sent to the Philippines.
The sample was deliberately left here..kkk..
I basically started using this one while on vacation. After the long drive and walks, it was so refreshing to use this for my face. It felt like all the impurities were removed. I didn't know if it's the spring water or the cleansing foam that was doing it's job but after the 5-day vacation, my face was almost clear from pimples...
I continued using the product until I almost ran out of it. It kept break outs at bay and it also helped ease my heat rash on my forehead and at the base of my neck. Yeah, that's how hot it was here...
I just got myself the 170mL (regular size) tube last first week of September. It's about 6,500 won but because of my membership card, I was given a 10% discount.
They have another variant of this, for those who regularly use BB creams. Since I don't use bb cream nowadays, I opted to stick to the one I fell in love with.
I'm really not familiar with the skin care benefits of baking powder... All I've known or read about a lot are that of baking soda. All I know is that baking powder consists of baking soda... But since it's doing my skin good, I'm sticking to it for the mean time... hehe...
In case you're interested, here's the product description from the tube:
--3 in 1 cleansing foam type
--Formulated with baking powder to gently exfoliate skin and to penetrate pores for a thorough cleanse
--it's best to rinse thoroughly with warm water
--Ingredients? A nosebleed to enumerate here but should you want to try and fear that there might be a substance you're allergic with, just email me and I'll check if that certain ingredient is in the list...
