Pressed Mineral Powder Pact from Maybelline

This afternoon, I went out to check some books at the nearest Kyobo Bookstore.  It was disappointing to know that they don't have the Korean version or translation of the book I was looking for and they also don't have English books on pregnancy but if I understood the customer service right, I think they could order the book for me if I want to(?).  So we (my brother in law's daughter was with me, Ye-ji) just moved on to the office supplies and stationeries section.  Everything was so interesting but I didn't want to ask Ye-ji if she liked anything in particular.  I'd rather buy her craft materials than finished and expensive ones.  So I urged her to check the Olive Young outlet with me..

Yes, indeed...there's a cosmetics shop inside the bookstore. Such that when you get tired looking for something, you can go in check the perfumes, cosmetics, make up tools and other toiletries on display.  There were new Japanese cosmetics products (I just love them but they are too pricey for me, haha).  I hoped to see a "sports foundation" from their Japanese line but there weren't any.  DHC cleansing oils were on SALE... The L'Oreal mineral make up I wanted to recheck were pulled out from the shelves already so I turned to Maybelline and this one interested me so much...

Maybelline's Pure Mineral Pressed Powder Pact (Finishing Powder)
(Opo, napabili ako...)

The last time I visited the outlet, this wasn't on display yet.  And by the looks of the empty space between the displayed sample and the stack of the pact, it's quite popular I think.  Here's why...

So sleek... It came with an extra puff(?)

I love how it feels on my hand.  I love the plum(?) color...

And it was on sale for 9,100 won only.  It's already a steal for 9grams of product.
Since it's a finishing powder, it's cheaper than their loose mineral powder foundation (which I bought from the Philippines for almost P600 or 15,000 in Korean won.  Their foundation here is priced at 22,000Korean won.

Can you call this a swatch?  I exaggerated the application just to show you how naive I was when I first ventured into mineral make up.   It could be the lighting at the department store but back then, I thought it was the best shade for me.  After coming back to Korea,  I realized that the shade was too dark.

It's getting warmer everyday and the foundation and concealers that suited me for the cold months aren't working well anymore.  So from Ellana, I switched to The Body Shop's mineral foundation shade #3 and Mineral Basics' Medium complete cover concealer.

Light complete cover and Lt. Medium cover are too light for me. The Medium complete cover is still a little light but can be forgivable...

I'm definitely happy with this (cheap BUT healthy) find.  No need to do the following when retouching:

twist off cap
pour a small amount of your finishing powder on the cap
swirl kabuki or powder brush on the cap to pick up powder
tap off excess powder and
buff brush on face..
and as you buff, you also hold a mirror with your other hand, haha...

This pressed powder is a time saver... And although I still do the abovementioned procedure with my powder and concealer, there's no way for me to return to "traditonal" make up.. I just love the benefits of mineral make up...  Since it's getting warmer, I noticed how my face would look darker after an hour or so after applying make up.  I just remembered that some (?) make up react to acidic skin thus the darkening of the face.  It's high time to switch to a lighter shade...
